Terms & Conditions
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms apply when you use this website, send a general question or book a consultation with Altus Migration Services. Please read them before you book. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by anything in these terms.
About us
Altus Migration Services is run by Kanika Malik, a Registered Migration Agent (MARN 2619590), based in Perth, Western Australia. You can check her registration on the Register of Migration Agents.
General enquiries
You can send a general question through this website for free. Kanika aims to reply within one business day. A reply answers general questions and explains how a consultation works. It does not assess your eligibility or advise you about your own application, and it does not make you a client. For advice about your situation, book a consultation.
Please do not send identity documents or other sensitive documents through the form.
Detailed consultations
- Fees: consultations are 30 minutes or 1 hour, and the fee is shown in the booking calendar before you pay.
- Payment: paid in full by card when you book. You receive a confirmation and receipt by email straight away.
- Before your consultation: we send you the Consumer Guide published by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority. It explains what you can expect from a registered migration agent, and it is also available in Hindi and other languages.
- How it works: by video call on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, at the time shown in your confirmation email. You receive the video link and reminders by email.
- Language: consultations are in English or Hindi. If you need an interpreter for another language, tell us when you book.
- What it covers: advice about your situation and options, based on the information you give. It does not include preparing or lodging an application, or a detailed review of your documents, unless we agree otherwise.
- Credit towards an application: if you go ahead with your application through Altus, your consultation fee is deducted from your professional fees.
A first consultation: an online booking is for a first consultation about a new immigration matter. If we have already advised you about this matter, contact us and we will arrange further advice under a written service agreement.
Where your payment goes: consultation fees are paid into a separate client account, as the Code of Conduct for registered migration agents requires.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for any purpose you told us about, and be supplied within a reasonable time. If they are not, you may be entitled to a remedy, whatever these terms say.
Working with us on an application
The Code of Conduct for registered migration agents requires us to:
- give you the Consumer Guide published by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority before we give you any advice
- give you a written service agreement, setting out the work, the fees and how they are paid, before we start work on an application.
Our professional fees do not include government charges or other costs, such as visa application charges, health examinations, police certificates, skills assessments, English tests and translations. You pay these directly, or we tell you about them in advance.
No guarantee of outcome
Visa and citizenship decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs, the Minister or the Administrative Review Tribunal, not by us. No registered migration agent can guarantee that an application will succeed. We will always give you an honest assessment of your chances.
Your responsibilities
Please give us information that is true, complete and up to date, and tell us promptly if anything changes. Our advice depends on what you tell us. Giving false or misleading information to the Department of Home Affairs can lead to a refusal and a ban of up to 10 years on future visas.
